NCC to Begin Compensation for Poor Telecom Services in April

By Usa Favour Yakubu

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that telecom subscribers will begin receiving compensation for poor service quality starting this April.

According to a report by Channels Television, the directive issued by the Commission targets telecom operators that fail to meet required service standards.

In further clarification, the NCC explained through a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) release that the compensation policy applies specifically to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) that do not meet their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for service quality.

The Commission also noted that a separate compensation structure is already in place for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), indicating that the new directive is focused mainly on mobile network services.

This move is expected to hold telecom operators more accountable while improving the overall experience for subscribers across the country.
